How to solve warping and deformation of plastic mold injection products?

Warping and deformation of plastic injection molded products is a very difficult problem. It should mainly be solved from the aspect of mold design, and the adjustment effect of molding conditions is very limited. So how do we deal with warping and deformation of plastic mold injection products?

1. When the stress is deformed due to poor demolding, it can be solved by increasing the number or area of ​​push rods and setting the demolding slope.

2. When the deformation caused by the residual stress caused by the molding conditions, the stress can be reduced by reducing the injection pressure, increasing the mold and making the mold temperature uniform and increasing the resin temperature, or by annealing.

3. Due to the inappropriate cooling method, if the cooling is uneven or the cooling time is insufficient, the cooling method can be adjusted and the cooling time can be extended. For example, a cooling circuit can be provided as close to the deformation as possible.

4. For the deformation caused by molding shrinkage, the mold design must be revised. Among them, the most important thing is to make the product wall thickness consistent. Sometimes, under the circumstances, we have to correct the mold by measuring the deformation of the product and trimming the mold in the opposite direction. Resins with a large shrinkage ratio are generally crystalline resins (such as polyacetal, nylon, polypropylene, polyethylene, and PET resins) than non-crystalline resins (such as PMMA resin, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, ABS resin, and AS resin, etc.). In addition, since the glass fiber reinforced resin has fiber orientation, deformation is also large.

What should we do if there are overflows in plastic mold injection products?
For plastic mold injection products, the treatment of overflow should focus on the improvement of the mold. In terms of molding conditions, we can start with reducing fluidity.

The specific solutions can be the following:
1. Reduce the mold temperature.
2. Reduce injection pressure.
3. Reduce the resin temperature.
4. Improve the clamping force.
5. Grind the mold surface where the overflow occurs.
6. Use high viscosity grade materials.
7. Use harder mold steel.
8.Adjust the joint surface and other parts of the accurate mold.
9. Add mold support columns to increase rigidity.
10. Determine the size of different exhaust slots according to different materials.
